The Research & Development Laboratory represents TD Group’s paramount commitment to the development and application of the most advanced computer science and electronic technologies, in different and promising sectors such as, environment and territory, tourism and related services, safety control and surveillance.
In particular the R&D Laboratory studies, designs and develops complex systems integrating the most advanced hardware and software technologies, to create and test experimental prototypes that will be successively industrialized to become new innovative products for the National and International markets.
Thus, the R&D Laboratory creates a stable link between TD Group and scientific research, thanks, as well, to some collaborations established with the National Research Council of Italy, Universities and other National and International scientific institutions.  Thanks to these collaborations, the company is able to analyze and experiment the most advanced scientific results evaluating their actual potential and, eventually, applying them to create new competitive industrial products.
The staff of the Laboratory includes about fifteen very specialized graduate researchers and technicians, able to face the most complex technical and scientific problems related to analysis, design and development of a prototype. In particular, the Laboratory has reached a deep knowledge on topics related to artificial intelligence, data mining, digital image processing, with particular reference to biomedical systems, and on the  study and development of sensor networks, on multimedia mobile information and navigation systems and, finally, on the application of thermal infrared to enable environmental monitoring, surveillance and medical diagnostics.
The Laboratory is equipped with an electronic systems design laboratory in which are developed and tested hardware prototypes for the preparation of several research projects, such as environmental monitoring sensors and video surveillance devices. By D.L. (law) n. 1353 dated 14/07/03 of Instruction, University and Research Italian Ministry, TD Group has been included in the list of authorized Highly Qualified Public and Private Research Laboratories, established by the Ministry itself.
